Weekly Recap #3

Phew. This week was a whirlwind of events and emotions. Hence the small number of recipe posts. On Wednesday morning (at the crack of dawn) my boyfriend left and won’t be back for a little over 2 months. There’s nothing worse than goodbyes.

However, this week wasn’t all bad. Friday was my birthday! Thank you to everyone that wished me a happy birthday.

Saw this license plate on an early 2000s Corvette in a parking lot. Possibly risked my life to take a photo.

Yes, yes, yes! So excited about this season already. Has anyone else had “Zou Bisou Bisou” stuck in their heads all week after watching?

Breakfast empanadas just out of the oven.

Sign outside of Joe’s Farm Grill in Gilbert, AZ. Only in Arizona.

Is there anything better than a thin-crust pizza cooked in a brick oven?

I already have so many cookbooks but I could not resist this one. When I first started cooking I used a lot of Giada’s recipes because they’re easy and fresh. Still love them!

Chewie looks like a crackhead for his toy. “Don’t take my toy, bitch!”

My little brother surprised me with flowers and balloons for my birthday!

Scorpion signs and lizards. You can definitely tell I’m in the southwest.

Whoops. More cookbooks. These 2 hardbacks were only $5 total bucks on Amazon. How could I resist!? Plus with my Amazon Prime membership they got to my house in 1 day. Love.

We had a chauffeur drive us to my birthday dinner!

Dessert! Dinner was at the Elements restaurant in the Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain resort in Scottsdale. Everything was excellent!

Oh… I can really sympathize with you about your boyfriend leaving! Almost two months ago, mine went away too. He'll be back in 26 days (yes, I'm counting down the days!), and I've been surprised at how quickly the time has passed. It feels as though he'll be gone forever, but before you know it, it'll be June (or so), and your boyfriend will be back! πŸ™‚
