Over the top Trashy Rice Crispy Treats are loaded with peanut butter and Oreos and are topped with chocolate peanut butter fudge and sprinkles!
Today’s outrageous recipe for Trashy Rice Crispy Treats is a bit of a stretch from what I usually like to post. Typically I share recipes made from scratch, and this recipe uses a lot of pre-made or packaged goodies. These Trashy Rice Crispy Treats were actually a request from my younger brother for his 19th birthday. He has been addicted to the packaged rice crispy treats lately and when I saw him eating one, I offered to make him some. Even “homemade” rice crispy treats are better than the pre-made store-bought kind! He texted me a request for birthday rice crispy treats that literally said, “Rice crispy treats with fudge and sprinkles and peanut butter and chocolate and Oreos.” I laughed but proceeded to make these ridiculous treats, thinking about what I would even call them. “Teenage Boy Treats” came to mind but then that sounded a bit… creepy. So I went with Trashy Treats because they are so trashed up with basically every type of treat and sweet thing you can add in.
A quick note about the recipe. I chopped my Oreos a little too big for the treats, which caused them to be slightly more crumbly than I would have liked. Be sure to chop them small enough so they won’t prohibit the treats from forming into neat little bars, but big enough that they add a nice bite.
If you make these ridiculous Trashy Rice Crispy Treats, be sure to take a picture and tag it #handletheheat on Instagram. Seeing your photos makes my day!
