About the Recipe

Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Tip One: This recipe uses part all-purpose flour, part bread flour for that perfect chewy bite. If you don’t have bread flour, simply use only all-purpose flour. The texture will just be less chewy.

Tip Two: Be very careful when browning the butter! Don’t walk away, it can go from brown to burnt quickly. The best pan to use is a wide stainless steel saucepan or skillet with deep sides (to avoid splattering). Avoid nonstick, it won’t allow the butter to brown much and you won’t be able to visually see how much it has browned.

Tip Three: I use chocolate chips AND wafers for maximum gooey chocolate goodness in this recipe. Feel free to use chunks instead, or only chips.
