Announcing the official recipe for the October Baking Challenge! Recipe tips, customization ideas, and rules for how to participate in the challenge for a chance to win the prize are all detailed below.

Wow, September was a crazy month!

We had TWO challenges, including the Ultimate Simple Dough Recipe challenge which I think was one of the most fun challenges to date. It was incredible to see all of the amazing and creative ways you guys used this basic yeast dough. Here were some of the entries:

September was also the month I launched The Magic of Baking, an online baking class that I’ve poured my heart into.

Needless to say it’s been crazy around here, but we’re not slowing down anytime soon.

Pie Crust Challenge

Pie Crust Baking Challenge
With the holiday baking season approaching fast, I thought October would be the perfect month for everyone to perfect their pie crust. By the time Thanksgiving rolls around I want you to be a pie baking genius.

So this October I challenge you to make my Best Ever Pie Crust. You can use the dough in any way you want. Apple pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, whatever your heart desires. Get creative! There are TONS of tips and tricks for pie crust in the recipe post.

Also, members of The Magic of Baking will be getting an exclusive live Q&A session with me this month to answer all of your pie crust questions and frustrations.

Here’s how to participate in this challenge:

Step 1: Make a batch of my Best Ever Pie Crust and use it in any pie creation you’d like.

I’ll be sharing my fave apple pie recipe tomorrow, but this Chocolate Pecan Pie is another favorite of mine.

Step 2: Take a photo of your pie creation and share it before October 31st 11:59pm PT. You have TWO ways to share your photo to be eligible for the prize:

Instagram

Upload your photo to your PUBLIC Instagram account and tag me @handletheheat AND use the hashtag #handletheheat

Facebook community

Share your photo inside my private Handle the Heat Facebook community. If you’re not already inside, click here to request access (you must answer the questions to join).

You can submit to one or the other, or to BOTH for two entries.

Prize

Every person who submits a photo following those directions will be entered into a random giveaway to win one $75 Amazon gift card! No purchase necessary.

This is open to anyone in the world who can shop with Amazon, I will purchase a digital gift card from your country’s Amazon website.

The winner will be selected randomly; so don’t worry about taking a perfect picture. Your photos may be put on display to share with my entire audience – that’s hundreds of thousands of people!

    Ta recette de pâte a tarte ,j’adore simple a faire ,friable et bon goût .Facile a manipulé.J’avais une tarte au sucre avec ta pâte mais pas eu le temps de prendre un photo car les jeunes on sauter dessus 2 jours finis .Donc je refait avec une ganache au chocolat .Pour faire plaisir aux jeunes . Les jeunes remercie tes recettes ils adorent tous en date . Merci Tessa .

    I made an apple crumb pie last night using your crust. Forgot to take a picture and it’s GONE. I’ve made many pie crust recipes, and this one is my new keeper! I loved the sour cream. Thanks!
