Tessa’s Recipe Rundown
Taste: Slightly spicy, buttery, and all around savory. Texture: The bagels are chewy and slightly crunchy at the edges, the cheese is meltingly smooth, the sausage is meaty and firm, while the avocado spread is rich and soft and slightly chunky. Basically a textural heaven! Ease: Super easy. Appearance: Sliders are always so adorable and this breakfast version is definitely mouthwatering. Pros: Fun twist on a breakfast sandwich. Cons: None. Would I make this again? Yes! There are so many variations to this as well. If you need to amp the nutrition in these sliders feel free to use whole-wheat bagels and/or turkey sausage. This post may contain affiliate links. Read our disclosure policy.

I was recently contacted by Kitchen PLAY to participate in an event centered on Breakfast Duos and sponsored by Avocados from Mexico and Jarlsberg Cheese. Who doesn’t love avocados, cheese, and breakfast? So how could I say no? It was almost too easy to come up with a recipe for this post because these ingredients just belong together for breakfast.
I managed to narrow down a page full of chicken-scratch recipe ideas to this recipe for avocado, cheese, and sausage breakfast sliders complete with miniature bagels, melted Jarlsberg cheese, breakfast sausage, and a creamy yet chunky spread made with Avocados from Mexico. Your family will be requesting these breakfast sliders every morning!

Avocado, Cheese, and Sausage Breakfast Sliders
Ingredients
- 2 medium ripe Avocados from Mexico, halved, pitted, and peeled
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- Pinch cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1 to 2 teaspoons Sriracha (depending on taste)
- 1 lime, juiced
- 4 breakfast sausage patties
- 4 ounces Jarlsberg cheese, grated
- 4 miniature bagels, sliced in half
Instructions
- Using a fork, mash the avocados with the cumin, cayenne, salt, pepper to taste, Sriracha, and lime juice. Set aside.
- Flatten or shape the breakfast patties to match the diameter of the miniature bagels. In a medium skillet, sauté the breakfast patties for 10 to 12 minutes, or according to package directions. Remove cooked patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Tent loosely with foil to keep warm.
- Divide the cheese evenly between bagel halves, place on a baking sheet, and toast in the toaster oven until the cheese is melted and the bagels are slightly golden.
- Place the breakfast patties on bagel halves. Top with the avocado spread. Top with remaining bagel halves and serve.
Avocados are commercially valuable and are cultivated in tropical and Mediterranean climates throughout the world. They have a green-skinned, fleshy body that may be pear-shaped, egg-shaped, or spherical. Commercially, it ripens after harvesting. Trees are partially self-pollinating and often are propagated through grafting to maintain a predictable quality and quantity of the fruit…

These are fun to eat because they are a little messy. You have to catch the goodness as it slides out of the bagel bun. Yum!
I love your Avocado, Cheese, and Sausage Breakfast Sliders! What a hearty breakfast to start the day. 🙂 I love that you used Sriracha, my favorite hot sauce, for a kick. YUM!
The spicy avocado spread for these looks delicious. I’m a sucker for anything with sriracha!
