Merry Christmas!!! Today’s post and video are both totally different than my usual post. Since I share a video every Wednesday and Christmas happens to be this very Wednesday, I thought it would be fun to share with you guys the best bits of 2013, including the best recipes and the most memorable moments. Instead of writing a huge roundup, I made a video detailing all my favorite parts of 2013, which was an incredible year both for Handle the Heat and for myself. The video is a little long, but I think you’ll get to know me a little better by watching it so hopefully you find it interesting! Also, stay tuned for the end because there is a surprise visit from our dog Chewie, who’s birthday is on Christmas. I hope you enjoy this 2013 year in review!

I hope you have a fantastic Christmas with your friends and family (if you celebrate). Leave me a comment below letting me know which were your favorite recipes of 2013 and what you’d like to see in 2014 and I’ll make it happen!!

What a great video! I am new to your blog so I haven’t seen all of your recipes and videos. I have cancer and need healthy, low carb, sugar substitute recipes. I am new to the idea of roasting vegetables, but in the summer Oklahoma gets very hot and I don’t want to have the oven on. Is there a way to “roast” vegetables in a crock pot? Looking forward to having the time to do more research on your blog. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Hi! I loved the pie crust guide personally. 🙂 It might be asking too much, but maybe a guide to making soufflés? I’m intimidated by them, but would love to try making one someday!

I just have to make a point on something you said in your video…you said that it’s all due to us that you are successful. I think it’s all due to you!! You are successful because you have put in the work and created a very compelling set of recipes…also, you are very easy to listen to in your videos. The entire presentation is top notch….you have something special! It’s a feather in your cap that you appreciate the support…that means you have gratitude for those that follow you.

I really appreciate your comparative analysis of different techniques and ingredients…that is the most interesting to me. I want to really know the differences and the details.

Your boyfriend has to be one of the luckiest guys on this planet!
