December Beauty Favorites
Another month has passed and today for Sunday Funday I’m sharing my December Beauty Favorites! These are all the products I found myself using and loving throughout the month of December. Stay tuned in a few weeks for January’s Beauty Favorites post because I scored some awesome new products and gift cards for Christmas and I’m sure I’ll have a LOT to share!! Let me know if you’d like to see more of these beauty posts, I love writing them!
NARS Blush in Gaiety
This is a matte cool-toned candy pink that is much brighter in the pan than it appears on the skin. The blush goes on somewhat sheer with one swipe but is easily buildable. I love this shade on my fair cool-toned skin, it gives my cheeks a bright, healthy glow without looking too garish. The texture is soft and smooth, easy to apply, but it tends to be ever so slightly powdery. I love the sleek simple packaging as well. It’s a really fun color and goes well with the cool taupey, silvery eyeshadows I’ve been wearing lately.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla
Love this concealer. It’s my favorite so far. The formula is silky, smooth, and opaque and does a wonderful job of covering and even brightening undereye circles and camouflaging redness without settling into fine lines or clinging to patches of dry skin. It’s not too thin to cover or too thick to blend, just perfectly creamy as the name states. The only issue with this concealer is that it is super pricey. I scored it at 20% off when Nars.com was having a sale recently but I’m not sure I’ll repurchase unless I am able to get a good deal again. I’ve heard the Maybelline Fit Me concealer is a good dupe so I might try that when I run out.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Berry Haute (left)
This color is quite alarmingly purple looking in the tube, but the rave reviews online and the cheap price tag convinced me to give it a try. It comes across as a cool-toned pinky plummy berry shade on my lips which I find to be flattering on my skin tone and completely wearable. Beyond the pretty color, the formula goes on ultra smooth, feels comfortable, and doesn’t settle into lines or cling to dry skin. It also wears away nicely without leaving weird lines behind. Love!!
Covergirl Lipstick in Hot Passion (right)
This is supposedly Taylor Swift’s red lipstick shade and I can see why. It is a very bright red and leans slightly pinkish on me. The best part is that it doesn’t make my teeth look yellow at all. I bought it because it was cheap and because I have similar coloring to Taylor Swift and it’s become my favorite red lipstick. It glides on effortlessly and the pigment stays on my lips ALL day long. It actually leaves behind a stain. You can’t beat the price of this one either.
Sigma E30 Pencil Brush
I am completely hooked on Sigma brushes, which is funny because I was pretty skeptical about their quality in comparison to MAC brushes at first. After LOVING the E65 Small Angle Brush to apply gel liner, I decided to venture out and try some more brushes. One that I loved throughout December was this pencil brush, which is great for both applying eyeshadow on the lower lashline and for applying a light, shimmery eyeshadow to highlight the inner corner. It’s soft yet precise and packs on the shadow. Super affordable, too.
Here are the products swatched on the back of my hand for reference.
