Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser – I know, I know. I’m a little late with this one (the book was originally published in 2002). Unfortunately all the alarming facts detailed in this book are still relevant. If you want to learn more about how fast food has changed virtually every part of food production and the American diet as a whole, pick up a copy. Just be wary of reading the slaughterhouse chapters before eating. Or ever looking at ground meat again. Ugh.
