Weekly Recap #1
I’ve decided to try out a new weekly post series where I recap what happened in my life, on the blog, and around the internet. I thought it would be fun to take a look back for myself and for those of you who don’t follow Instagram or Twitter or who would like to know a little more about me. I always find it fascinating when other bloggers reveal a bit about their day-to-day lives.
This past week was my Spring Break from classes. Come to think of it, if everything goes right, this may have been my last spring break ever! It’s sort of bittersweet because no spring break means I’ve graduated from both University and culinary school but it also means I’ll officially be a member of the working class. I’m guessing you don’t get a spring break with most jobs…
Apparently Arizona doesn’t need a spring season. Or fall. Or winter, really. Just heat all the time. Siting in the passenger’s seat on the way back home from the store on Monday I shrugged off my cardigan because it was freakin’ hot. Like, tank top weather hot. The beginning of the week started off in the 80s (F) and is supposed to end in the 60s (F). Deciding what to wear every morning is such a dilemma when the weather fluctuates so much weekly and daily. Sorry, was that an obnoxious first world complaint?
Our 12-week-old Yorkie puppy, Chewie, got a new toy this week. He wanted to play while I wanted to write recipes.
New wedges since the weather is so warm. See that red cushion on the arch? That’s SUPPORT! So comfortable. Via DSW Shoes.
Our formal dining room/living room is almost empty because we have no furniture for it. Why is furniture so expensive?! This room has served as a storage space, a makeshift food photography studio, and now a practice space. Chewie will chew on electrical cords at any opportunity (guess we chose an appropriate name), even when there’s a blaring amp connected. Hopefully we won’t have to change his name to Shocky because of his love of cords. Sorry. Lame joke.
Like my new puppy scarf? Chewie loves to sit on your shoulders/head when on the couch.
We were one of the first people in the massive theater last night for 21 Jump Street. I’d definitely recommend the movie, it was laugh out loud funny.

I bought this cookbook last week on Amazon and have already made 3 recipes from it. They have all been fresh, tasty, and relatively quick and easy. Speaking of recipes…
In case you missed any this week, here’s what happened:

Chocolate-Orange Silk Mousse (this amazing recipe comes from the Eating Well Cookbook)
